You might have heard of the Nordic Games – but what exactly were they?
Well, these events – a mix of competition and celebration – were arranged between 1901 and 1926, and, alongside the Olympic Games, helped pave the way for international sporting events around the world.
But they were also an opportunity for cultural showcase and tradition.
Stockholm itself hosted seven Nordic Games over the years. There were no branches, meaning that you could see everything from horse showjumping to biathlon on the programme.
